Adult French Classes
Cours de français pour adultes
Level-based group courses for adults — real French, taught for real life, in small groups. Choose Beginner A1 or Intermediate B1, online or in person at our Oakville centre. Our in-person groups meet on Thursday evenings, in 12-week terms of one 90-minute class a week (18 hours in total), for adults 18 and over.

Adults Beginner French – A1
In person: Thursdays, 6:00–7:30 PM · Oakville Online: Beginner A1 group option available — view current options in Lexa.
No prior French required. You’ll build everyday vocabulary and the foundations of the present, past, and future — and hold your first real conversations from the earliest weeks. This is the course the Beginner Conversation Circle draws on: same level, same conversation-first teaching.
Adults Intermediate French – B1
In person: Thursdays, 7:45–9:15 PM · Oakville Online: Intermediate B1 group option available — view current options in Lexa.
For adults with roughly an A2 foundation who want to move from managing in French to actually conversing — discussion, storytelling, and listening work around adult topics: work, news, travel, culture. A short placement assessment may be recommended before you join, so the level is right.
Good to know
Each course is a 12-week term commitment (not drop-in), and courses open subject to a minimum enrolment.
Complete beginners can register for Beginner A1. If you have studied French before or are unsure of your level, request a short assessment so we can recommend the right group.
Prefer to learn from home? Both Beginner A1 and Intermediate B1 have an online group option. See the Online Classes page — and TEF/TCF preparation runs both online and in person.
